Roxy Music disbanded at the top of their game in 1983, leaving us with the critically acclaimed AVALON as a parting gift. Two years later Bryan Ferry reappeared with BOYS AND GIRLS which would become his most successful solo release.
I must admit I love this album with its layers of smooth percussion, strings and sophisticated disco beats. Bryan Ferry's vocal is as debonair as ever, backed by a chorus of female singers and impressive session musicians. David Gilmore (Pink Floyd), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) and Nile Rogers (Chic) are just some of the notable special guests on the album. With a team of over twenty sound engineers and assistants, Bryan Ferry was determined to succeed as a solo artist.
